Gourock (Guireag around Scottish Gaelic) is a burgh in Inverclyde, Scotland. It has it used to be that functioned as a seaside resort on the Firth of Clyde where it widens out from either a River Clyde. Its principal work in todays world, all the same, is as a popular community, extending contiguously from either Greenock.
Gourock began as a microscopic camping village in the traditional county of Renfrewshire. An early influence in Gourock was a personal of Darroch who made money in the West Indies and returned to build Gourock House inside what it finally gifted to the town when Darroch Park, late renamed per council when Gourock Park. A Gourock Burn diarrhea down to a west side of the park, & the Scout Hall of the 1st Gourock & Sixth Renfrewshire Scout Troop, called ''Colonel Darroch's Have, get on that side of the park. A head of the Scottish clan Darroch is based within Gourock, though a home was demolished a bit of period ago.
While a competing railway corporations extended their lines to provide convenient modems to Clyde steamer services the Pierhead'' was built as a railway terminus. Present ferries sail from either a pierhead to Dunoon and Kilcreggan, and electrical trains provide the service to Glasgow.
